Best Use: All Conditions

KUIU's Summit Refuge shelter is designed for mountain hunters looking for the ultimate in versatility, modularity, and a huge floor area at under 2 lbs in trail weight. The shelter may be supported by tent-specific support poles (sold separately), with trekking poles, or by tying off the peaks to overhanging tree limbs. It can easily sleep two, with plenty of extra space for gear and even a wood burning stove. If needed, three average-size adults can sleep lengthwise or sideways across the shelter.

The Summit Refuge makes a great secondary shelter on expedition hunts. Four or more can easily shelter from the weather, cook, and socialize. It also works incredibly well as a glassing shelter: sit inside and scan the surrounding country while staying protected from the rain or sun.

The unique design provides redundancy to the stake out points-- even if one of the primary end stakes breaks free, the tent won't collapse. This design also allows both ends of the tent to open completely making for a number of set up possibilities.

The base configuration is floorless; however, an optional tent floor is available and preferred when used as a primary shelter. When bugs are an issue, a full tent body can be installed with a nylon mesh upper and fully seam taped bathtub floor.

Both the floor and tent body can be installed after the shelter has been set up. Eight guylines strategically located around the tent stabilize the large panels and enhance the wind resistance.

All of the stakeout and guyline locations have adhesive patches backing up the stitching, significantly increasing the strength at these stress points.

The entire bottom hem is reinforced with sewn-in cord to limit stretch and enhance the long-term strength of the stakeout points. Sixteen tent stakes with attached cord are included, covering all stakeout and guyline locations.

A great tie-in to the Disney parks
Format: Paperback
Welcome to the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu! I haven't been yet, but you may have if you've recently visited Disney World or Disney Land. There's obviously a lot of references to how the actual park looks. The cover featured the Millenium Falcon just like the actual attraction. This graphic novel tells one story focusing on one of the original characters made for the parks: Dok-Ondar. Within the big story there are four smaller tales being retold. Han Solo deals with a baby sarlacc. Greedo's ego is showcased. Hando comes in contact with the Guardians of the Whills. And, Doctor Aphra travels to the Sith Homeworld of Moraband. Each of these stories show off different aspects of the park that you can see for yourself if you go in person. This is what Star Wars does so well, making connections and building a big lived-in world. There are plenty of wonderful references. Ki-Adi-Mundi and Chirrut are just two of my favorites. Dok-Ondar is the true star of this book. He's an underworld mastermind. I give this book a 3.5/5. It's full of fun stories with connections to the park and featured characters from different eras. This definitely is a tie-in story, though.

Good point of entry into Star Wars comics
Format: Paperback
I love Star Wars and have been enjoying seeing the expanded universe. Honestly, sometimes the focus on Jedis and Siths is a bit of a distraction from understanding what life would be like in that galaxy.

Great set of stories that ties in many of your favorite charecters
Format: Paperback
A simple yet great set of stories that tie in many of your favorite characters into the Galaxy's Edge/Baatu environment. I am not a huge comic reader, but I did very much enjoy. It is a quick read overall.

Worth a read in preparation for visiting Disney
Format: Paperback
Probably not the greatest Star Wars story but entertaining and ties in nicely if you are visiting Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge
