Despite its nickname, this plant is not a true cactus—it belongs to the Euphorbia family—but its dramatic, winged stems give it a cactus-like silhouette with an architectural twist. The stems are flattened and deeply ridged, resembling broad ribbons with slightly toothed edges, and range from green to bluish-green depending on light exposure.

With time, it can grow into a shrubby, multi-branched form that makes a stunning focal point indoors or in warm outdoor landscapes. Like most euphorbias, it produces small, inconspicuous flowers and exudes a milky sap when cut—so handle with care and keep away from pets and children.
