Ficus microcarpa ‘Compacta’

Indoor Ficus Tree | Compact Fig Bonsai Tree for Home and Office

Slow-growing and steady, the Compact Fig Bonsai Tree forms its shape gradually, adding new leaves in tight clusters that create a rich, evergreen canopy. Native to Southeast Asia and Australia, this ficus variety is known for its sturdy branches and rounded leaves that stay glossy throughout the year. Its natural growth habit remains compact, making it a good fit for those who want an unfussy, reliable indoor bonsai.

Dwarf Ficus Tree | Small Bonsai Tree Care Instructions

This species thrives in bright light—both full and partial sun. Water when the pot feels noticeably lighter, typically every 5–7 days, by submerging it up to the rim for 5–10 minutes and allowing it to drain well. Comfortable in temperatures between 55–80°F, it prefers to stay away from heaters or cold drafts. During warmer seasons, it can enjoy time outdoors in soft morning light.

Bonsai Tree for Home and Office | Small Ficus Tree for Decorating and Gifting

With its upright form and dense foliage, the Compact Fig works easily into a variety of rooms—placed on shelving, a kitchen counter, a bedside table, or a work desk where its presence adds structure without overwhelming the space. The handmade White vessel introduces a clean, minimal base that pairs well with wood, ceramics, and neutral palette decor. It also makes a meaningful, living gift for someone who appreciates small-scale greenery and slow, steady growth.

Ficus species are associated with learning and resilience across many traditions. They're often seen as symbols of patience and long-term clarity—traits that complement spaces meant for reading, focus, or quiet work.

A Sweeping, Memorable Book From One of America's Greatest Historians
Format: Paperback
Bernard Bailyn offered this third volume of his “Peopling of British North America” by looking back at a far earlier period. Instead of looking at the 1760s and 1770s, Bailyn turned his attention to the seventeenth century. Always a fine writer, especially for an academic, Bailyn presented a sweeping look at the founding of Virginia, Maryland, New York, New England and other parts of the Atlantic coast. Bailyn was able to cover a great deal of ground, looking at Native Americans, Swedes, the Dutch and a host of various religious groups from England from the Pilgrims to Catholics. Scholars and general readers alike will profit from this look at the rough, often bloody, birth of America. It is easily one of the most memorable additions to colonial American history in recent years. Highly recommended.
