The String of Tears (Senecio herreianus or Curio herreianus) is an interesting succulent plant hailing from Namibia in South Africa. This member of the Asteraceae family is a tender perennial succulent desired for its creeping stems and attractive, tear-shaped foliage. The plant’s genus name, Senecio (sen-NEESH-shee-oh) is Latin and means “old man”. This is a reference to the hairy aspects of the blooms. The specific epithet, herreianus (her-ray-ee-AY-nus) honors botanist, Hans Herre, who was an expert on the topic of South African succulents. Common names for this plant include: Size & Growth The String of Tears is typically a low growing, trailing plant. Stems may attain a length of one foot in ideal circumstances. The String of Tears has trailing stems ranging in shade from green to purple. The stems are fairly stiff and can grow to be more than a foot long. They have a trailing or creeping growth habit depending upon how they’re planted. The leaf shape is of a teardrop or raindrop. They are equipped with clear leaf windows allowing more light to get in. When you peek in the window, you will see the interior of the leaf has very fine purple stripes. When the plant is grown in bright sunlight, the purple hues of the stems and leaves will become darker. Flowering & Fragrance Senecio herreianus String of Tears produces cinnamon-scented, trumpet-shaped white flowers during the spring and summer. Light & Temperature The String of Tears does best in partial shade or indirect bright light rather than in the full direct sunlight. As a houseplant, it does well in an east-facing or west-facing sunny window. If you’re growing the plant outdoors, you should bring it in before the cold months of winter. Alternately, if you’re growing it as a groundcover, take cuttings to keep indoor plants as houseplants and return them to the outdoors when winter is over. This plant is winter hardy in USDA hardiness zones 9b-11b. Watering & Feeding All plants of this type are adapted to live in fairly arid environments. They are able to store water in their stems and leaves for long periods of time. Water as you would any trailing succulent or cacti sedum. Wait until the soil is almost entirely dry and then water very deeply. Allow water to run through the soil and out of the drainage hole of the container. Fertilize these succulents once a year during the summer. Use a weak solution of a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.

They sent me a Amazon gift card
I insured an iPad for my son and had it repaired multiple times from him stepping on it. Quick and fast repairs. The last time he accidentally damaged it they sent me an Amazon gift card for the full price I originally paid for it. I was able to use the gift card right away because it was digital. I used it on an iPad that was on sale for half the original price so I was able to get him the night light he always wanted. Best service available and I insured this iPad right away with them.

They will do anything to get out of fixing or replacing your item.
I bought a refurbished Samsung Galaxy Tablet S6 from Amazon through Affirm. I've already had the tablet for nearly 3 months. The tablet is defective. After barely 3 months it won't charge. I attempted to file a claim. The Asurion website tells me to return the item. Samsung doesn't make these tablets anymore. You cannot buy a brand new tablet of this model. They aren't sold online. The reason I bought the warranty which was over $100 is so that Asurion will fix the tablet if there is a problem. They were unwilling to make any effort to repair or fix this rare tablet. The website says to return the item. This is a lengthy return process. Amazon will not give me a QR code or let me print a label that I can take to a local UPS store. The only place Amazon will let me drop off the item is 2 or 3 towns away. The only option Amazon is giving me is to have UPS come pick up the tablet without giving me a label. I had to purchase a box from UPS and have them package it for me without providing me a label because Amazon says I don't need one. On the first attempt the UPS guy wasn't able to pickup the item because they need a special kind of form and my UPS driver didn't have the form. I have to wait until a UPS driver with the proper form is able to pick up my item before they can start the return process. Now I can't buy a Samsung Galaxy Tablet S6 from Amazon unless I want to go through this or a similar process every time an Amazon 3rd party seller sells me a defective product. Thanks for nothing Asurion. I'm going to start buying my electronics in person from Best Buy. They sell electronics that work and they immediately replace damaged and defective items that are under warranty. Amazon should ban Asurion from selling warranties on their website. They are selling warranties that they have no intention of providing the end product for. This is the second I've had a problem with Asurion. The first time I had a problem with a pair of headphones purchased through Amazon that were covered by my Asurion warranty that I had purchased. Asurion wouldn't help me and directed me to try and use the manufacturer warranty. When I buy a warranty from someone it's because I want the seller of the warranty to solve my problem. Not tell me to return the item or direct me to use the manufacturer warranty. It's not my fault the refurbisher couldn't make the tablet function properly for longer than 3 months.

Simple and not Drama claim process.
’ve had Asurion coverage for a couple of years and never needed to use it until recently, when my pool salt cell (less than two years old) stopped working. I had purchased it with an Asurion protection plan, so I contacted them to start a claim. The process was simple and straightforward to follow. In the end, they honored the plan and covered the cost of my salt cell based on the value when I originally bought it. They issued me a gift card that I could use on Amazon for that amount. While prices have gone up and a new cell now costs about $200 more, it was still definitely worth having the coverage. Overall, I’m satisfied with how the claim was handled.

Love this protection plan
Quick and easy. My daughter's cracked her screen on her phone, as soon as it happened I went on the app, filed the claim. Ten minutes later I received the email with the shipping lable. The following day I dropped the phone off at ups and 4 hours later I received the digital gift card. Ive filed several claims since getting the protection plan and with four kids its definitelysomething im glad to have especially since i dont have to buy a protectionplan for each item now. I have filed claims for electric scooter the stoped working for no reason, my son's phone stopped charging, my oldest daughter cracked her phone screen, my son's video game controllers up and died and each time it was quick and easy and no fuss

Don't waste your money - these people will not help you
On March 9th 2024, I purchased a MCombo Lift Chair costing $785. On the same day, through the same Amazon account (my PERSONAL account since I also have a business account), I purchased an Asurion Complete Protect policy at the cost of $16.99 per month plus taxes. About one month ago, a problem arose with the chair that required me to make a claim using the "Complete Protect" policy that I had purchased for that very item. The claim was initiated on January 1st, 2025 - On January 3rd, I received an email asking me for photographs showing the damage for which I was making a claim. I sent those photographs via email to the address provided on January 6th. On January 27th, having not received ANY response from Asurion, I contacted them via phone and was told that my purchase had been made with a business account, that it was being used for business purposes, and was therefore not covered. I assured the Asurion Representative that it was most certainly not a business use, and that the chair that I was claiming for had been purchased because I had extensive shoulder surgery done that made it impossible to get in and out of bed. After speaking (unsuccessfully) with the Asurion Rep, I then contacted Amazon Customer Service. I spoke with an Amazon Customer Service Representative on the phone who confirmed that I had in fact used my personal account to purchase the chair and the Asurion Complete Protect policy. That representative went on to send a message to Asurion on my behalf confirming that the purchase was for personal use and not business use. Asurion responded, asking me to call them with the order number for the Asurion purchase. The number I gave was the exact same order number on my order history, however, the Asurion Rep could not find it. I was finally able to discover that the order number in Asurion's system was entirely different and isn't even in the same format as an Amazon order number. Upon the Asurion representative finding my plan, she informed me that the chair was listed as being purchased for business use (despite Amazon confirming that it was NOT) but that I should give them "a couple of business days" to resolve the issue. Five business days later, still no response and so I called them again (Yesterday - February 1st 2025)... Lo and behold, I got the same crap yet again... the purchase was listed as business use and was therefore being denied, but she promised to remove the business use commentary and put the claim through again. Today, February 2nd, I called Amazon yet again to escalate and had to call THREE times because the first two calls resulted in me finally being connected to an Asurion representative (two different reps) and each time, the Asurion representative hung up the phone as soon as my name was mentioned. It has become clear to me that the Asurion "Complete Protect" policy is a SCAM - they will NOT take care of your issue, regardless of how long you've been paying. I have been paying every month since March 9th last year - so they've received over $170 from me thus far, with zero other claims, and if I am able to cancel right now, I will only receive $16.99 back. All I want, is the chair that I purchased the policy for coverage of, to be repaired or replaced. Asurion are NOT helping, and are actively avoiding contact. At this point, I am considering legal action against Asurion for fraud - perhaps even a Class Action. I'll wait and see if my issue gets resolved within the next 10 days or so.
