This exquisite majolica cache pot from Montigny-sur-Loing dates to the late 19th century and is a striking example of the richly detailed floral ceramics produced in this renowned French pottery town. The pot is lavishly decorated with large sculpted flowers in high relief, including camellias, hollyhocks, and hibiscus-like blossoms, each handcrafted and hand-applied with utmost skill and care. The petals display exceptional finesse, shaped individually and painted in delicate hues of ivory, blush pink, deep burgundy, and violet, all set against a backdrop of lush green foliage that emerges vividly from the surface. The lower portion of the pot is finished in a warm, marbled brown glaze, while the upper half features a softly crackled cream background with subtle veining. There is no visible loss to the intricate floral decoration, and despite a hairline crack on the body, the piece remains intact and visually stunning.
Montigny-sur-Loing, located in the Île-de-France region near the forest of Fontainebleau, was a flourishing center for artistic ceramics in the second half of the 19th century. Celebrated for its naturalistic barbotine ware, the town became a hub for skilled artisans who drew inspiration from the surrounding landscape and the emerging Art Nouveau style. These ceramicists were particularly known for their mastery in sculpting and applying floral motifs in high relief, often entirely by hand, creating decorative objects that were both technically impressive and emotionally evocative. Pieces from Montigny-sur-Loing were featured in major exhibitions and became cherished elements of bourgeois interiors during the Belle Époque.
This cache pot is a fine testament to that tradition, marrying botanical artistry with technical excellence. Whether displayed on its own or filled with fresh greenery, it brings a striking touch of Belle Époque refinement to any interior.

Pretty funny
Format: Hardcover
The book gives us a more focused outlook on Chieg Wiggum. Full of its funny moments, I`d recomend this to huge Simpsons fans as it seems the shows writers managed to give us another hit.

Not the best, but not the worst either
Format: Hardcover
By any means not the funniest book in the series, only the one on Krusty the Clown was more un-funny; but still a worthy addition to your collection and, just like all the others from the series providing a retrospective of anecdotes you might have forgotten.
