Insect Heroes Plant Soap – 250 ml Soap Spray for Soft-Bodied Pests

This ready-to-use soap spray is most useful when plants need two things at once: cleaner foliage and a label-directed plant-care routine. It helps lift honeydew, dust, and residue from the leaf surface while contacting exposed soft-bodied pests when used as directed, so it works well as a practical reset before moving on to a longer-term strategy.

What matters

  • Surface pests: aphids, mealybugs, whiteflies, thrips, mites, and other exposed soft-bodied pests.
  • Dirty foliage: sticky honeydew, insect residue, and general grime on leaves.
  • Early intervention: a practical first step before introducing beneficial insects or another method if needed.

Useful overview

  • Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
  • Spray leaf tops and undersides evenly from about 20 cm away and avoid soaking the plant unnecessarily.
  • Let the film dry fully before handling the plant again or releasing beneficial insects.
  • If you are not using beneficial insects, repeat only as needed and patch-test sensitive plants first.

How to dilute it

  • Volume: 250 ml
  • Formula: 3% black soap on an olive-oil base
  • Appearance: clear liquid that may leave a light white residue on foliage

Use and timing

Use it early, while pest pressure is still manageable. Consistent placement and timing matters more than changing products frequently.

Combine with basic hygiene: remove heavily damaged leaves, isolate affected plants, and check neighbouring pots so you treat the full area.

Extra notes

  • Follow the product instructions for placement and temperature range.
  • Avoid spraying oils or soaps on release days unless the supplier confirms compatibility.
  • Repeat checks weekly until new damage stops.

Format: Paperback
A quick but thoughtful read. This book is great to share with friends and an excellent conversation starter without being exactly political, in the negative sense of the word. Inspires constructive conversation regardless of your background.

It's How Wars End That Become Important Afterward
Format: Paperback
The twentiety century taught us a lot about wars and how they end. World War I showed us that making strong demands on the defeated (who didn't admit defeat to their own people) set the stage for the next big war. World War II was fought until the Unconditional Surrender of the Germans and Japanese. Something that thinkers still debate as having made them fight all that harder. VietNam was fought with no clear end in sight, and "another VietNam" entered our language. The first Gulf War was ended when Colin Powell and Bush II debated how to end the war. They stopped before they had to go in and see what the Sunni's, Shiite's and Kurds made of the power vacuum left by the removal of Saddam would have created. Bush II is learning about this now. This is the second revised edition of this book, originally published in 1971 and then updated in 1991 and now 2005 to reflect happenings in new wars. Still some of the old wars had interesting insights that I didn't know before, such as how Finland, originally on Germany's side against Russia, made a peace with Russia and kicked the Germans out before they became a Russian province. Great Book.
