Graptosedum glauca is a striking hybrid succulent valued for its cool-toned blue-green foliage and effortless growth habit. A cross between Graptopetalum and Sedum, it combines beauty with hardiness, making it an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced succulent growers.
Its compact rosettes form along short, branching stems, which can trail elegantly over pot edges or spread as ground cover in gardens. The foliage develops a powdery farina coating that gives it a soft, matte look, and under cooler temperatures or bright sunlight, the leaves may blush with pink or lavender tones. In spring to summer, cheerful yellow star-shaped flowers appear, adding a seasonal burst of color.
This variety thrives in containers, rock gardens, succulent arrangements, or as part of a drought-tolerant landscape. Easy to care for and adaptable, Graptosedum glauca provides year-round interest with minimal maintenance.
Care Tips
-
Light: Provide full sun to partial shade. Indoors, place in the brightest possible spot, preferably a south-facing window.
-
Watering: Water deeply and allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering in cooler months.
-
Soil: Use a gritty, well-draining cactus or succulent mix with coarse sand or pumice.
-
Temperature: Hardy to light frost but grows best in temperatures above 10°C (50°F).
-
Fertilizing: Feed lightly with a balanced succulent fertilizer during the active growing season in spring and summer.
-
Maintenance: Remove old leaves and spent flower stems to maintain a tidy appearance.
The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 80mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
