Product Description:
An evergreen woody shrub in desert and tropical areas but capable of being an herbaceous, perennial in temperate zones; African Ashwagandha shares the same characteristics as Vedic Ashwagandha but differs in its large leaf size and quicker growth. Belonging to the nightshade family it produces green berries encased in lantern like pods that mature to a pretty bright red. You know the seed pods are mature when the calyx becomes transparent showing the berry within.
Origination: India but naturalized in Africa
Height: 2 to 3’ high and wide
Hardiness: Herbaceous, perennial in zones 8 and up. Hardy to 15.

Maturity: 200 days but can be done in 100 days as an annual
Please try to understand that most of these plants are not garden center plants. They are wild perennial plants that will go dormant at certain times of the year. We do not have a set up that allows us to grow year-round so we have to grow with the seasons. If you buy a plant out of season, I will typically still send it because it is a perennial plant and will grow again when the climate allows it to grow again. I will never send out a declining annual plant unless I contact you first. Though most of these are easy to grow, they are NOT all beginner plants. This statement applies to medicinal plants, herbs, and some vegetables – not so much succulents, hoyas and cacti, though they go dormant too, they usually still look the same and don’t decline during dormancy. If you are unsure when a plant grows best or goes dormant, please don't hesitate to ask me. They don't all go dormant at the same time here in Jacksonville, Fl. I can't speak for anywhere else though with certainty.
You will receive a plant that is very similar to the plants pictured, however, they may have grown some, or, depending on the time of year, they could be semi-dormant. Ships in a 3" pot. We put great care into packaging our plants and problems have been VERY rare, but due to the nature of the items shipped, it is possible for leaves or small stems to bend or break in transit but generally this is only cosmetic, and the plant will recover once watered and placed in a bright location (But not direct sun since they just came out of the box!). If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it for you. Please contact me with photo proof within 24 hours of delivery of your plants. It is my commitment to provide you with a live, healthy plant. Please note that minor cosmetic damage, such as a few broken leaves or small stems, may occur during transit and is a common risk inherent in the shipping process. After 24 hours, my job is done and it is up to you (The buyer) to know how to keep it alive. I have only grown plants in Florida and will send out anything I feel comfortable will grow here. In other words, it is up to you to know the conditions that these plants grow in the part of the country you reside.
Heat packs are available for purchase with your item to use if cold weather is expected at the time of shipment. (Link to Heat Pack: bit.ly/40ugd4J ) Keep in mind some plants we carry are very tropical and even cold, not freezing, temperatures can kill them. Sturdy, Be mindful if a few things in advance

Good quality. The black pipe compliments our decorating style so we are over all pleased.
Be mindful of the following:
- Needs a little bit of expertise in making sure all the flanges line up and are level/plumb.
- Even if/when you pre assemble tubing according to printed instructions, the shelving won't line up and some connection parts will have to be loosened to line up.
- I consider us (me & the hubs) little above average when it comes to DIY but this took some figuring out and cooperation during installation because we decided to align the holes on the flanges up with our studs to enforce the holding strength (for weight of books and family photo albums/picture boxes). This choice was prompted by the poor quality of plastic drywall anchors included with the product.
Now that I have installed one, I will customize next time with more height (to accommodate taller children's books that don't fit the current set up) and a bit deeper (to accommodate a 12 inch shelf/wood insert). Aesthetically, it will not accommodate a book taller than about 9 inches. Our photo albums range up to 15 inches and because the shelving depth from back wall to front of wood shelf is about 12 inches, it hangs over the front too much to look balanced.
With the current set up, I'm limited with what can be placed on the shelves - size wise. While this does not have anything to do with the quality of the product, you may not know to consider these aspects in advance so thats why I include it in my review.

A Solid, Stylish Solution!
