Learn everything you need to know about growing eggplant from seed to harvest with my YouTube video tutorial: https://youtu.be/1Rs7pcCP1kM

This is one of the more unique and rare eggplant cultivars that I grow in my garden which comes from Thailand. Plants are compact, getting around 3 feet tall so it the perfect choice for small gardens or for growing in containers. It produces loads of miniature lavender/white 1-2 inch diameter sized eggplants. They can be eaten whole, skewered and grilled, or added to soups and stir fries.

Ideal Growing Conditions

Sun: Full Sun

Water: Allow the soil to dry out a little bit in-between watering

Fertilizer: Add fertilizer into the planting hole at transplant time. Also fertilize once a month with an organic granular fertilizer, like Espoma Tomato-Tone to boost growth and production.

When & How To Sow Seeds: Sow eggplant seeds 2 months before your last spring frost date. I highly recommend you sow seeds indoors so you can control the growing environment better. Sow 3 seeds per 4 inch pot, filled with sterile seed starting mix. Fertilize with a liquid fertilizer (I like Fox Farms Grow Big) once the first set of true leaves appear. Place containers over heat mats to speed up germination. Once seedlings germinate, they will need a strong light source to grow fast. I personally use Mars Hydro grow lights because they are very bright and I like how eggplant seedlings respond. It will take 2-3 months for it to reach transplant size. Plant outside after all danger of frost has passed.

Germination: 10-15 days

Days To Maturity: 75 days from transplanting into the garden.

How & When To Harvest: Harvest them when they are still pale lavender/white for the best flavor and texture. Once they turn yellow, they are not the best for eating.

Common Diseases: Eggplant can get some powdery mildew, spots, or blight in very wet conditions. Improve airflow by spacing plants 3 FT apart and prune out old, dead, yellowing, or heavily diseased leaves. Spray with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to clean and disinfect.

Common Pests: The most common pests when growing eggplant are aphids and spider mites. Knock aphids off your plants with a strong blast of water from your water hose. Spray with spinosad for severe aphid infestations and for spider mites. For white flies, setup yellow sticky traps to capture adult white flies. For severe white fly infestations, remove badly infested leaves and spray with spinosad.

Awesome old-school 1990's feel
Color: Black/Black/Digital
besides the timer than can be set to do interval training, and the 100 lap memory, there is also a cute memo function that can store 10 memos, with 3 pages each. I use to help me remember my children's phone numbers.

Nostalgia is costly.
Color: Black/Black/Digital
It’s a nice watch but in no way is it worth the price. You’re paying a huge nostalgia fee with this one. At best this is a $40 watch. Battery life is horrible (3 years) and it loses 1-2 seconds a day. For a digital quartz watch that is extremely poor. I thought mine might be a poor example but after researching online I found the majority of new flix owners report losing at least 1-2 seconds a day. As a Casio fan, it’s hard to see what the draw is to Ironman watches. Casio has them beat in almost every category. The only thing I think the timex wins at is the screen legibility at extreme angles. Anyways, I got it because I had a flix in high school and it brings back some memories. I believe the nostalgia factor is why these watches have any appeal at all.
