Passiflora incarnata, commonly known as the maypop or purple passionflower, is a delightful and hardy perennial vine native to the southeastern United States. This passionflower is celebrated for its unique and intricate flowers, with white to pale lavender petals and a striking, multi-layered corona with colorful filaments. The vine features distinctive three-lobed leaves and tendrils that enable it to climb and cover various structures like trellises and arbors. While Passiflora incarnata produces small, round fruits known as maypops, these are often not as commonly consumed as other passion fruits. However, the fruits are edible and have a sweet, tangy taste when fully ripe. This passionflower is not only an ornamental addition to gardens but also serves as a host plant for the Gulf Fritillary butterfly, making it a favorite for butterfly enthusiasts. Its resilience and adaptability have made it a cherished choice for both native and ornamental gardens, bringing an elegant and vibrant touch while attracting pollinators with its captivating and unique blooms. Germination

To germinate Passiflora incarnata, also known as maypop or passionflower, begin by scarifying the seeds with a small file or sandpaper to slightly nick the hard seed coat, aiding in water absorption. Soak the scarified seeds in warm water for 24 hours to further soften the coat. Prepare a well-draining potting mix, using a combination of peat moss and perlite or a seed-starting mix. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil, lightly pressing them down without covering, as they require light for germination. Maintain consistently moist conditions by misting the soil regularly. Place the seed tray or pots in a warm location with temperatures around 20-30 degrees Celsius (68-86 degrees Fahrenheit). Germination can take anywhere from two weeks to several months, so be patient. Once the seedlings have developed several true leaves, transplant them into larger pots or directly into a sunny garden spot with well-draining soil. Passionflowers thrive in full sun and can withstand a range of soil types. Regular watering and support for climbing vines will help ensure successful growth and flowering.

The best mineral sunscreen
Scent: Unscented
I’m so impressed by this sunscreen! I’ve been using mineral sunscreens for years and this blows every other one I’ve tried out of the water. It is silky smooth and applies so easily, absorbs well and doesn’t feel greasy or heavy. It doesn’t leave a white cast but it still protects very well! Of course like any sunscreen it’s only as effective as your usage, so reapplying is paramount. The unscented truly has no smell to it, which is something I appreciate. Using it for the first time, neither myself or my fair kiddos got sunburnt. It’s just all around a fantastic, clean mineral sunscreen and will be my go to from now on!

Wellness Staple for Sensitive Skin
Scent: Pear & Coconut Water, Scent: Pear & Coconut Water
I’m becoming much more intentional about the products I use on and around my body, especially while traveling, and this sunscreen ended up being one of the best things we packed for our girls trip to Mexico. My friend has extremely sensitive skin and typically reacts to a lot of sunscreens, so we wanted something mineral-based, reef safe, and more wellness-conscious overall. We split one bottle between the two of us over about five days, and honestly it held up really well. It felt lightweight for a mineral sunscreen, blended in better than expected, and didn’t leave our skin feeling greasy or irritated in the heat. Most importantly, neither of us experienced sensitivity issues or breakouts during the trip. I also appreciated the peace of mind of using something reef safe while spending so much time in the ocean. It’s one of those products that aligns well with a more mindful, health-focused lifestyle without sacrificing effectiveness.

Love the scent
Scent: Tropical Breeze
This sunscreen has such a great scent and is easy to apply with no white cast. Skin doesn't feel clogged or sweaty. Easy to apply and distribute. Like that it's a zinc oxide sunscreen that is doesn't leave a white cast and has a wonderful tropical scent. Wish it came in SPF 50 or higher.

ACTUALLY unscented! Finally!
Scent: Unscented
I have been on a personal mission to find a truly unscented sunscreen, as I have extremely sensitive skin and medical conditions that cause me to have skin reactions to fragrance. I have tested out 10+ different sunscreens and even in those that do not list a fragrance, can still have a strong smell or scent due to one or more of their ingredients. This sunscreen truly is UNSCENTED. I was even able to use it on my face today, which until now I have been able to do successfully with only one other sunscreen. I have yet to try out this sunscreen in direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time, so I cannot speak for how effective the SPF 30 is for activities out in the sun, but I was able to comfortably wear it for walking my dog for 20 or so minutes while wearing a sun hat, which is normal use for me when it comes to sunscreen. I will come back and update this review if anything changes as far as sun sensitivity or if any burning takes place. Now for the cons: it felt a bit heavy or "stifley" on my face, but I have sensory processing issues so I'm sensitive, and there was pilling on my face hours later. So far I would recommend this sunscreen and am stoked to have discovered it. It is my current go-to for my body sunscreen, and haruhara wonder black rice SPF 50 velvet finish sunscreen is my go-to for face sunscreen

Stunning daily SPF
Scent: Unscented
Hands down the best daily SPF I've ever used. It's not sweat/water resistant, so not great for outdoors, but for a daily moisturizing SPF lotion? 10/10. Minimal white cast, but it's a mineral SPF, so not zero cast. Not irritating at all, no hidden chemical boosters, no eye sting, does not cause my eczema to act up, and extremely moisturizing. Most mineral spfs leave me like a corn husk, but this one actually improves my skin's hydration. I wish I could give this more stars. My only criticism is the brand's use of "clean" marketing language. This isn't a real term, it's just a marketing strategy. The product itself though? Stunning.
