How to care for a Spathiphyllum 'Maximo Cupido'

Watering Spathiphyllum 'Maximo Cupido'

Spathiphyllum 'Maximo Cupido' prefers even watering, without the potting soil becoming soggy. Water as soon as the top centimeter of soil feels slightly dry. Avoid prolonged puddles of water in the pot; drain excess water from the saucer. During the winter months, you can water less frequently, as the plant grows more slowly. A good tip is to use rainwater or filtered tap water for optimal growth.

Light Spathiphyllum 'Maximo Cupido'

This peace lily thrives in partial shade to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. It's best to place it about a meter from an east- or west-facing window. It still thrives in rooms with less natural light, just like the Aglaonema Silver Bay and the Dracaena Marginata . Rotate the pot occasionally so that all sides of the plant receive sufficient light.

Nutrition and fertilization

Between April and September, you can feed your Spathiphyllum 'Maximo Cupido' monthly with a liquid houseplant fertilizer. This will keep the leaves a fresh green and encourage new flowers to appear regularly. Outside the growing season (October–March), feeding every two months is sufficient. Use a balanced fertilizer, such as a 20-20-20 NPK mix, for healthy growth stimulation. The fertilizer also contributes to better resistance to pests and diseases.

Frequently occurring problems

Yellow leaves

Yellow leaves can indicate either too much or too little water. First, check the moisture level of the potting mix. Too dry results in yellowed and dry leaf edges; too wet causes yellowing and dropping leaves. Adjust your watering routine and remove dead leaves to stimulate new growth.

Plant dripping

If Spathiphyllum 'Maximo Cupido' drips (releases excess moisture through hydathodes), it often means it's too moist. Ensure good drainage and always allow the top layer of soil to dry out. If necessary, use an airy growing substrate or add perlite from our potting soil and accessories collection.

Plagues

This peace lily can be affected by spider mites, mealybugs, or thrips. Small spots or webs on the leaves are often a sign. Remove pests manually with a damp cloth and, if necessary, use our sticky traps against fungus gnats . For persistent pests, you can apply a mild insecticide or neem oil.

Roots visible at the bottom

When roots grow out of the pot, it's time to repot. Choose a slightly larger pot from our selection of pots for houseplants . Also refresh the topsoil and check for a healthy, strong root system. Repotting is best done in spring so the plant can fully recover afterward.

Brown edges on leaves

Brown edges often occur due to low humidity or excessive watering. Spathiphyllum 'Maximo Cupido' prefers a humidity above 50%. Place a bowl of water nearby or regularly use a plant sprayer from our range, such as the plant sprayer . Avoid cold drafts and dry radiators in winter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Needs editing
Format: Kindle
Cute storyline and promising characters, but the lack of editing is painful to read. I would love to read an edited version.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.
