Whether it's in the cooler months when the plants are showing light shades of pink, cream and green or when touched by the hot summer sun darkening the foliage to a deep purple and maroon, the colours are always alive and intense!
And 'Eden' is be no means a lazy succulent, but vigorous in both growth and structure, so give this one some space to move and then watch it shine!
Plant Care: Very easy to grow and look after. The plants are robust and strong growing so give them plenty of room to spread. With very strong sun exposure the plants may darken considerably hiding the variegation for the short term.
Origins: Although not commonly heard of hear in Australia, 'Eden' is one of the older variegates which has been around since at least 2019 and has been widely available throughout Europe for quite a while.
'Eden' is thought to be a variegated form of Aeonium 'Velour'.
The parentage of all the new Asian variegates is becoming a complex issue with many claimed to have been created from Aeonium 'Velour', which we do not always believe is correct.
In this instance we feel that 'Velour' is indeed the correct parentage, with 'Eden' showing strong similarities in form and growth, with the characteristic pubescent foliage of 'Velour'.
Comments: 'Eden' is unfortunately another victim in the never ending game of name changes and we have also seen it sold as 'Chi xia fei', 'Cabernet' and unfortunately under the name 'Inferno'.
'Inferno' is the name of a very different variegate which originated here in Australia and they two plants are very different.
