• This set is from the Fall 2006 collection for Valentino.
• The dress was made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino.
• The near twin of this piece was worn by Kerry Washington that same year.
• This is a very interesting dress because of it strong tie in to both past and future Valentino. The first time this print was used by the house was in 1970. Mr. Valentino revisited it for this fall 2006 collection and then Pierpaolo used the print for his Resort 2020 collection.
• This two piece set is especially fun with its mix of prints and colours. It is made out of a beautiful silk chiffon that keeps it light in weight.
• The top is a simple halter type top that has a more structured waist area that wraps around you and zips to close at the side.
• On the front there are two triangles made out of a printed silk chiffon that has been doubled to make it opaque enough to wear. These attach in along the top of the panel underneath and then they simply tie into place behind the neck.
• The ties are cut to be excessively long from the point where they tie behind the neck so they drape beautifully down and over your bare back. 
• The skirt has a more structured band around the top and when the halter is on it fits perfectly over top of that structured part.
• It widens out to the hem from there with a series of stacked ruffles set to overlap each other slightly from waist to hem. This gives you very pretty movement when you move.
• The halter part of the top are lined in a second layer of the same printed silk chiffon and the rest of the top and the skirt are lined in a purple silk chiffon. Both the top and skirt close with hidden set side zippers.

The bust part is flexible in size since it is done in two panels. Each panel measures 9" across the widest part.
