Misses:  XS-3XL

This is Edwardian charm at its best. A composite of several originals, this gown captures the essential elements of Edwardian charm - the high neck, puffed sleeves, nipped-in waist, a sumptuously full sweep of skirt, and as much lacy detail as the eye can behold.

All Views feature bodice and hip yokes that descend into long panels in the front that end at waist and hem. The bodice fullness is softly gathered into the yokes and a full circle skirt falls from the hip. The sleeves, while full and puffed at the cap, are snug-fitting below the elbow. The center-back opening may be fastened with hooks and eyes, buttons, or a zipper.

View A is the simple antique design which provides smart contemporary styling. It is unembellished, has a stand-up collar and modern mid-calf hem length.

View B features lace insertion. (Techniques given in Authentic Detailing inside pattern). The collar is made entirely of lace. A deep flounce creates a floor-length hem, and yards and yards of easy-to-sew lace insertion on yokes, sleeves, and skirt are perfect for bride and bridesmaid alike, as well as afternoon tea gowns.

View C is the piece de la resistance, with all the features of View B, plus additional lace insertion on sleeves, skirt, and flounce. The crowning touch is another technique given in Authentic Detailing inside pattern - a myriad of tiny pin tucks on bodice and hip yokes. A lovely twelve-inch train completes the gown. The great variety of fine detail makes this a gown worthy of heirloom status, yet is entirely machine-sewn.
The original gowns were always made of very sheer white cotton, so if you are planning an authentic ensemble, you will want to make the 203 Edwardian Underthings and/or the 226 Princess Slip.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium-weight cotton or blends such as batiste, lawn, voile, or broadcloth; handkerchief linen; silk broadcloth or crepe de chine; satin; taffeta. Original garments were made of cotton batiste. Simplified version can also be made from rayon or wool challis. Stripes, plaids, one-way prints, or diagonals are not suitable.

The Future is Now
Format: Hardcover
The author makes a compelling argument that the world is fracturing into two principal trade blocs, the U.S.A bloc and the China bloc. Even cursory review of the daily business news confirms the author's argument is taking shape now. This is an important book for those interested in geopolitics, economics, and even those who are trying to determine where to invest their funds based on changing global dynamics.

Cute book and engaging story
Format: Paperback
My grand daughter reads at a 3rd grade reading level, so doesn't want to read the easy readers but loses interest easily with traditional chapter books. This little book was a perfect fit. She's an axolotl fan so the pictures and the story line kept her engaged. There's even a couple of pages of axolotl facts at the end of the book. Well worth adding to her book shelf!

Couldn't put this down! The story is lovely, heartfelt, and bounces along. I was sad when it ended. Have to read it again, then!

Quick, fun read
Format: Kindle
I purchased this because my son and I have been raising 2 albino axolotls since 2022. The illustrations are very cute and well done. The story includes a few characters and even though it's so short, there is clear character development. I would recommend this for children under the age of 8 to be read to. With repetition, they will easily be able to read this book (apart from those with reading challenges). My 12 year old read it through in one sitting and added his own unique reading style to it which was really funny. I wouldn't recommend reading this on a small screen as the font is small.
