La Coqueta proudly presents our collaboration with Nicky Hilton Rothschild. The mother-of-three, designer and socialite worked closely with Founder and Creative Director Celia Muñoz to create an exclusive capsule collection, thoughtfully developing silhouettes and illustrative prints inspired by the key figures and moments that have shaped Nicky’s life. Each piece is a love letter to her upbringing in her native New York, celebrating the people, places and memories that continue to inspire her today.

The London Woman Long Dress is an elegant tribute to Nicky Hilton Rothschild’s niece, celebrating La Coqueta’s devotion to artisanal craftsmanship and timeless heritage. Expertly crafted from pure cotton poplin, it offers a soft, breathable canvas that drapes beautifully while remaining effortlessly comfortable. A softly shirred bodice provides gentle stretch, while elasticated smocking lends versatility, making it both pregnancy and breastfeeding-friendly. The neckline can also be worn off the shoulder for a subtly relaxed, feminine silhouette. Voluminous puff sleeves, delicately gathered at the cuffs, and a floaty mid-shin skirt with tiered layers lend graceful movement. The fabric itself is a work of art: an exclusive print designed in-house at La Coqueta’s Notting Hill studio in collaboration with Nicky Hilton Rothschild. Inspired by Nicky’s own life story, the print traces a journey from her childhood through motherhood, spanning New York, London and Los Angeles, with romantic nods to Italy along the way. Illustrations capturing meaningful moments, from her upbringing to marriage and family life, were first hand-rendered before being digitally refined and printed in Spain in small, carefully considered runs. The result is a soft, painterly pattern in dusty pink hues that beautifully complements the feminine silhouette. Coordinate with the family, including mama, in the pink Toile de Jouy pieces for charming, picture-perfect moments.

The Genesis of Black Theology
James Cone’s initial foray into the intentional development of a black theology ought be required reading for any serious Christian theologian. It challenges long-standing Christian claims by challenging not so much the claims themselves, but the racist presuppositions to those claims. The language is contextual, I suspect, offensive to many. But the language is effective in illuminating the racist presuppositions. Read with a critical eye, one can indeed find under-developed theological claims that could bear sharpened revision. But as with any first revolutionary theological work, the brilliance lies in the courageous and compelling insight that demands personal reflection and dare I say ... theological modification.

Powerful Book
Format: Paperback
Okay, so this was written in the 60’s at the height of the civil rights movement. Given that, you might expect the arguments to be a little dated. Not so. This reflects brilliance of Cone and the failure of America to make real progress. I found Cone’s book to be a damning comment on today’s churches. As a white Protestant I’m ashamed that my church hasn’t embraced more of Cone’s argument. As a Lutheran, we’ve done better than most, but we have more to do. Professor Cone’s work should be required reading for all seminarians and church leaders.

It's Tight but Mostly Right
It is prophetic for it continues to in the here and now. The language is harsh and often accusatory. Great amount of time spent on the oppressor...but not so much on the oppressor with blacks themselves. I do believe White mite learn a thing or two about black oppression. I do believe black should refresh our memory of the need to come together as a nation of the same hue to give America a clue about the blacks from God's point of view.

Insightful
Format: Kindle
Reverend Cone did a great job putt pin to paper and developing this book. He wrote over five decades ago and it is very relevant today. Rev. Cone wrote this book in such manner that until we end racism and oppression in this country, this book will remain relevant for years to come.
